I can see for miles
There's a kinda comfort zone around the arts in Swansea at present with many wrapped up in their own music art or dance – we all need to look beyond this at the wider picture which will benefit us all.
Its a strange phenomena when arts and music festivals/conferences that take place in Swansea with no local people involved. I have seen the line ups! This happens all too often.
There is not enough simple organisation and not enough infra structure to support the careers of musicians artsis and performers – unless its its classical or mainstream even then there's a strain on resources.
"I know you've deceived me, now here's a surprise
I know that you have 'cause there's magic in my eyes
I can see for miles and miles and miles and miles and miles
Oh yeah"

S.L.A.P?
Imagine this: – once a month we pick a venue and all the local bands play the ones that cant fit in play the following month but still show up and support the gig we all bring our mates and have a cracking knees up.
We get artists and other performers to contribute as well with visual and media based art and performance.
We lobby the media to get down there.
Just a start......
There's a million ways we the artists musicians and dancers could take things forward with minimal effort if we all work together.
We are helping to organise and grow the scene- we are a focal point for bands and organisations to get together. We are plugging local music to the media. We have access to free audio visual recording.
Put down what you are doing and drop us a line now we are about to embark on a new stage of m.a.d's strategy and involves unifying the cities and regions musicians artists and performers
Underneath the streets of Swansea ( definitely) lies the beach !
