Swansea art gallery to shut its doors for £6m refit

Well the improvements to the gallery So the new news is that the Glynn Vivian art gallery is going to be closing for 2 years for a £6m revamp! Now you might be thinking, like me, why? Doesn't it seem a little ridiculous to be closing one of Swansea's main art attractions, and for such a long period of time, what could they possibly be doing that would cost them £6m?will include some structural work, a 50-seat lecture and screening room, improved disabled access, a new dedicated library and research room and various other features all being funded by Assembly Government, the Arts Council of Wales and Swansea Council. Fair enough then I suppose, I do have to agree that the Glynn Vivian art gallery is in need of a little attention and I cannot wait to see how the place looks once it's all done and dusted. So prepare to say goodbye to Glynn Vivian galley towards the end of this year.
